"To be recognised by the city you come from is great, but when you realise that your Scottish contemporaries are on an international scale collectively, well that is something else." Having studied fashion/textiles in Glasgow, Scottish-born Deryck Walker moved to London where he gained invaluable experience, firstly on work experience with design duo Boudicca, and then as an assistant to Robert Carey-Williams, followed by a year in Milan at Versace. Moving back to Scotland to set up his own studio where he could focus and develop his own ideas, he finally moved back to London in 2003, before launching his menswear label in 2004. He is set to launch his first womenswear collection during London Fashion Week at OnIOff in September 07. Image credit |
